Height and Weight Charts
The height and weight charts are from insurance companys. The charts show the range of acceptable weight for height for both men and women. Note there are degrees of acceptance, such as - "Preferred", "Standard" etc. to "Decline"
There are points assigned for over-weight as well as for other conditions. A person who is overweight (within limits), otherwise healthy and a good risk, and have a low number of points usually will be issued a policy. If the person smokes, rides a motorcycle, is overweight, etc and accumulates too many points most likely will be declined.
Each company has it's own height and weight standards - most companies provide a chart to the agent for guidance. The charts are typically marked "confidential". Below is a link to a "typical" chart.
